"Really?" Noah replies, "What's it like here? I see it must be easy to catch up, if you're already used to it."
Teddy thinks for a moment, then replies, "Well, everyone is pretty friendly, but it's like most other middle schools. The usual-- popular or preppy people, bullies, mean teachers." Teddy laughs slightly.

Rohan sat down with his lunch tray at an empty table. He wasn't new, but about a month ago he was. Rohan was a shy fellow- he didn't like to speak up much or be the center of attention. The lunchroom was loud with shouting students, eager to see a fight.
Rohan began to eat his pizza (which tasted like cardboard, ketchup, and packaged cheese), when he overheard a conversation at the next table about being new. He looked over at Noah and Teddy. They looked nice, but Rohan was too shy to get up and ask them questions, so he sat on his table and silently listened in onto their conversation.

Janelle sat there poking at her lunch. She couldn't keep her eyes off Noah.

Noah laughed. "I guess you're right." he said.
He then noticed Janelle looking at him.

"Uh.. Hi?" He said awkwardly. JJ snaped back to reality once she realized he was talking to her. "Oh! Sorry, um hi! I'm umm Janelle but umm you can umm call me umm JJ," Janelle said in a squeaky voice. Noah laughed and said, "Hi Um JJ." Janelle was pink now and said, "I'm going to....Follow Tempest!" as she noticed Tempest throwing her food away and walking towards the door. Janelle did the same, except at a faster pace. I really made a fool out of myself! Great first impression Janelle. She thought.

Noah looked back at Teddy with a confused look. "What's up with her?" he asked
Teddy just shrugged. "I dunno."

"I think she has a crush on you! At her old school she would do that with her crush, it's hilarious!" Michelle said with a bright look. Then she thought to herself, I really need some friends my age...

Noah smiled. "At least somebody already likes me on my first day." he laughed.
From the other table, Rohan glanced over. Noah caught sight of him. Rohan froze.

Rohan then looked away in fright of to much attention.

He was afraid that Noah or Teddy would give him attention by telling him to get over there or him coming over there. It was easy for them to tell he was new to this school.

Of course, they did. Noah raised his voice a bit and said, "Hey, Rohan, is it? Why don't you come over here and sit with us!"

Rohan's eyes widened, but he didn't want to reject. He got up with his lunch and sat down next to Noah.
"Uh, hi.." he said quietly.

"Hey!" the guys said in a unison. Michelle giggled and added, "Sup, Rohan. I'm Michelle. Or Chelle. Which ever works." Michelle then stuffed her face with her lunch, smiling at Rohan. He gave her a weird look, then tried to avoid direct eye contact. Michelle laughed, "I'm kidding, I'm kidding. I'm not THAT rude.."

Rohan smiled slightly. "Okay, didn't think so."
Michelle grinned wide. "I AM rude though sometimes, well, barely actually."
"More like all the time." Teased Teddy, and she elbowed him in the side. "Kidding, kidding.." he said, rubbing his side.

"You'd have to really get to know me. Ask my sister!" Chelle added.
